Our Journey

Our journey began on a warm summer evening in August 2019. Childhood friends Bradley Gough and Ollie Pod were shocked to hear how difficult it was for their friend to organise a leaving party for his younger brother. Slightly hungover the day after the party, Brad looked around the web for an app or site which made getting together easier, but found nothing.

Deciding to solve the problem himself, Brad stayed up until 2am jotting ideas down in his notebook, and when he posted a picture of his handwork in their groupchat, Pod quickly jumped on board with some ideas of his own.

In the close of 2019 we moved into our first office to begin working on Groubook. In February 2020 the COVID19 pandemic struck and brought the world to its knees. Despite this, we saw an opportunity to build the platform, and after six months and an easing of restrictions, the Groubook platform was finally launched in August 2020 to a fantastic reception.
